The Northern Territory (NT) of Australia is turning its focus on emerging tourist markets along with other regional tourism boards of the country. It is now focusing on emerging markets like China, India, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam etc. to increase the tourist arrivals from these potential markets. It is highlighting the self-drive option to attract high-end tourists from potential markets.
Talking about the focus on Indian market and its potential, Richard Doyle, Director – Japan / Asia, Tourism NT said, “India is one of the emerging and potential markets for Australia. Over the years, Indian travellers have become more experimental and adventure seekers. After exploring the well known cities like Sydney, Melbourne and Gold Coast; travellers can explore NT through self drive options. We are in talks with few top tour operators in India to promote the self-drive packages of NT in the Indian market. We are looking forward to double the Indian tourist arrivals over the next two years.”
Doyle informed that one can opt for self-drive options and explore multiple destinations in the region through themed tourism drives. |
