NTB aims to brand Nepal as high-end tourist destination through NTY 2011 campaign

In a bid to attract one million tourists in 2011, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has initiated a campaign- Nepal Tourism Year (NTY) 2011. The main idea behind the campaign is to brand Nepal as a high-end tourist destination with improving infrastructure to enhance growth prospects of its tourism sector. NTB is in the process of spreading awareness about NTY 2011 campaign in domestic and international markets through various marketing initiatives. Products like fairs and festivals, culture, adventure and community tourism will also be promoted through NTY 2011.   

Revealing plans for the Indian market, Archana K C Rana, PR and Publicity Manager, Nepal Tourism Board said, “We sense political stability in Nepal which is required for growth of the tourism sector. We are going to work closely with private players in Nepal to improve tourism products and facilities. There are plans to work closely with Indian travel trade and promote special packages and products among Indian travellers. For the same, we are currently educating the Indian travel trade by participating in trade shows (TTF-OTM) in Mumbai and Delhi.
