Oman plans to open tourism office in India

With an aim to attract more tourists, Oman plans to set up representative offices in several countries soon. According to a report in khaleejtimes.com, the first representative office will be opened in Moscow. Talking to the media during the recently concluded Oman Travel Market (OTM) 2010, Mohammed bin Hamoud Al Toobi, Under-Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Oman said, “The target markets will be Russia and the neighbouring countries. We also plan to open tourism offices in China, Japan and India as part of our intensified efforts to woo holidaymakers to the sultanate.

The Oman Travel Market 2010, held from May 17-19, 2010 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre, was inaugurated by Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al Maimani, Under-secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry for Financial and Administrative Affairs.

OTM is Oman’s largest annual tourism show and this year it attracted 30 tour companies and hotels from Oman, Italy, Turkey, Germany, Indonesia, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, India and Iran.
