Planet Scuba India after the launch of its first inland centre in Bangalore is planning to set shop in Mumbai, New Delhi and Hyderabad. These inland centres will offer training programmes, tours and also sell scuba diving equipment. The concept of an inland centre offers an alternative where people can learn scuba diving in contained waters, get certified and then undertake dives in the sea, saving them both time and money. The company, which is supported by Planet Scuba Malaysia, has three centres in Goa, one in Lakshadweep and one in Andamans. It also plans to tie-up with key tour operators around the country to promote scuba diving through holiday packages, which will be in place by month end. The idea is to offer scuba diving as a package or as one part of the tour package. These will packages will be offered at popular beach resorts around the world.
The company will provide training, which will cost Rs 20,000 and will be charged by the travel agents as a fee from clients and the same will be forwarded to Planet Scuba India. The training programme includes classroom sessions, training in swimming pool, four dives in the sea and equipment. |
