Puducherry govt announces incentives for hotels and tourism projects

According to a PTI report, with an aim to promote tourism in Puducherry, the state government has announced incentives to star hotels, heritage category hotels, resorts and other tourism projects.

As per the state government gazette notification, incentive will be in the form of capital grant of Rs two lakh per room subject to a maximum of Rs 30 lakh for a one-star category hotel. The amount of incentive will be Rs three lakh per room subject to a maximum of Rs 75 lakh for a two-star category hotel and Rs three lakh will be available as capital grant per room subject to a maximum of Rs one crore for a three-star category hotel project.

The state government will also sanction incentive at Rs three lakh per room subject to a maximum sum of Rs 75 lakh for heritage hotels, if the building was listed in the current list of heritage buildings in Puducherry.
