Puducherry to get Rs 750 crore for developing tourism infrastructure

The Puducherry government has drawn up a Rs 750 crore-plan to develop infrastructure in the tourism sector during the 12th Five Year Plan. This information was revealed by Iqbal Singh, Lt. Governor, Puducherry during the recent Republic Day celebrations at Uppalam.

Singh said that the recent ‘Thane’ Cyclone had caused extensive damage to tourism infrastructure in Puducherry and the government had initiated comprehensive developmental activities. “Puducherry will soon emerge as a preferred destination for both domestic and international tourists,” he stated, according to a report by Deccan Chronicle.
