Punjab, Haryana, HP & Chandigarh plan joint participation for PATA Travel Mart 2008 in Hyderabad next month

Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Chandigarh, in order to promote the Northern region of the country are planning to participate jointly in the upcoming Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Travel Mart 2008, to be held from September 16-19, 2008 in Hyderabad. The decision regarding their joint participation will be confirmed after the meeting to be held in Chandigarh tomorrow. The meeting will be attended by various Secretaries and Directors of Tourism Department of the respective states.

Vivek Atray, Director, Department of Tourism, Chandigarh said, “A strategy will be prepared for the joint participation in this mega event to represent Northern region nationally and internationally. This will be the first time when all these three states and union territory will participate in such a big travel event.”
