Qatar Airways is continuing its expansion into India with the recent launch of its four flights a week to Goa. The new non-stop Doha – Goa route capitalises on the start of the winter holiday season with the destination particularly popular with holidaymakers from across Europe, from where Qatar Airways has connecting flights. The airline is using an A320 in a two-class configuration of 12 seats in Business and 132 seats in Economy on the route.
The flights QR224 will depart Doha at 21:45 hrs on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and arrive in Dabolim Airport in Goa at 3:30 hrs next day. On the return leg, flight QR225 will depart from Goa at 4:30 hrs on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday and arrive in Doha International Airport at 6:10 hrs next day.
According to a report in etravelblackboardasia.com, together with the launch of services to the northern Indian city of Amritsar at the beginning of October this year, the Goa route takes Qatar Airways’ capacity across the country to 64 flights a week spread across ten cities.
