Rajasthan government sanctions Rs 147 million for development of three tourist circuits

Rajasthan Tourism to promote Adventure and Medical tourism

The Rajasthan state government has sanctioned Rs 147 million to materialise the state’s tourism department’s plan to develop three tourist circuits, i.e., Haudauti, Jaipur and Pushkar. Usha Punia, Tourism Minister of Rajasthan said, “It is important to develop these circuits to make them more attractive and to provide all services and comforts to tourists.” The Centre has also sanctioned Rs 220 million for the development of religious circuits such as Braj Bhoomi, Mewar and Bagad.

Punia added, “Apart from focusing on important tourist centres - Jodhpur, Udaipur, Mt. Abu, Jaisalmer, Ajmer, Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh and Bikaner - the tourism department will also develop new circuits simultaneously. All 14 airports in Rajasthan are being modernised and work to provide international status to Udaipur airport is underway.” Rajasthan government is expecting to double the tourist inflow from the international market through aggressive marketing in foreign nations.
