| | Ranchi, the capital city of Jharkhand will finally have its world-class new airport operational before the first ever international cricket match in the city scheduled for January 19, 2013. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) recently received a No objection Certificate (NoC) from the Union Defence Ministry to construct an approach road to the new terminal building, as per a TOI report.
The work on the one km approach road, which was forcibly stopped two years ago by local army unit, has already began. The 30-metre wide approach road would be constructed before December 31, 2012. The AAI wants to get the new terminal building inaugurated a week before the India-England One Day International (ODI). "The NoC has been forwarded to the AAI who would soon construct the road," said Vinay Kumar Choubey, Deputy Commissoner of Ranchi.
