Ras Resorts, Silvassa to add 60 rooms by end of December 2010

Ras Resorts in Silvassa, the capital of the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, plans to add 60 rooms to its existing room inventory of 100 rooms, by end of December 2010. The four-star hotel is the only property in Silvassa, which is government approved. Spread across 8.5 acres of land on the banks of river Daman Ganga, another five acres has been acquired to set up additional rooms. Presently, the resort has three categories of rooms (deluxe, executive and suites), a coffee shop ‘Bistro’ and lounge bar ‘Banyan Tree.’ Plans are afoot to open another coffee shop with 75 covers, which will be operational by December this year.

George P John, General Manager, Ras Resorts, Silvassa said, “Currently, we cater to the corporate, wedding, leisure and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) segments. The resort receives guests from Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Surat, Ahmedabad, Bharuch and Vadodara. With an increasing demand for weddings in the resort, we decided to add another 60 rooms to cater to theme weddings. There will be an open lawn for wedding functions, which will have the capacity to accommodate 500 sitting crowd or around 800 floating crowd.
