| | Bangalore-based online bus ticketing company, redBus.in, recently launched Bus Operators Software System (BOSS) for managing and aggregating the bus inventory of independent bus operators in India. The main idea behind launching BOSS is to organise the bus travel industry and tap the increasing demand. The company is looking at distributing the software to about 50 bus operators in India by March 2010. The company currently books around 3,000 bus tickets per day across India. It has an inventory of over 500 bus operators covering over 5000 routes across 15 states in India.
Phanindra Sama, Co-Founder and CEO, redBus.in said, “Online bus ticketing in India is growing at the rate of 33 per cent year-on-year and has a huge untapped potential. But the market is still at a very nascent stage and a large part is still operating through offline operations. Through BOSS, we are providing technological support to bus operators under the Software As A Service (SAAS) model for managing and aggregating their inventory. We are looking at installing the software with 50 bus operators. | | Read complete story >> (You need to login first to read complete story). New User? Register for FREE! |
