Rockland Hospitals, a multi-speciality hospital offering health care services with its main branch in New Delhi is planning expansion in Tier-II and Tier-III cities in Northern India like Lucknow, Jaipur, Agra, etc., next year. “Rockland Hospitals has plans for offering geriatric facilities (for the elderly) amongst others near Tier-II and III cities through Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) projects, since the government’s focus for the new year will be more on the domestic market,” informed Ashish Dua, Vice-President (Finance), Rockland Hospitals.
Talking about the current status of inbound Medical Tourism figures, Dua explained that post the economic crisis, a growing demand from Western countries like US and European countries is expected for cheaper medical treatments in India. To tap such opportunities new hospitals/health care centres should make use of the five year tax holiday given by the Indian government for encouraging infrastructure development in and around non-metro cities. “More organised Medical Tourism is yet to happen in India. |
