Rome and Lazio region of Italy turns focus on Indian outbound market

Rome and Lazio region of Italy has marked its foray in the Indian outbound market. The region recently organised a workshop titled 'Celebrating Rome' in New Delhi and Mumbai in cooperation with ENIT – Italian National Tourist Office, India to highlight tourist attractions of the destination. For the same, a 14- member delegation of tour operators, hoteliers and tourist attractions from the region came down to interact with the Indian travel trade and improve tourism prospects between India and Rome. Considering the potential of the Indian travel industry, the region has introduced special packages customised for the Indian market.

The region has planned an array of marketing strategies to make its presence felt in the Indian market. One of them being, is the release of a promotional trailer of the film 'Homage to Rome' which will be screened in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai from March next year. The region is looking at promoting itself for every category of traveller from high to mid range. For the same, the region has introduced multiple special packages as per the needs of the Indian traveller.
