Roofers Hotels to invest Rs 150 crore for new hotel projects in West Bengal in 2010-11

Kolkata-based Roofers Hotels, a unit of Roofers Group, will invest around Rs 150 crore in new hospitality projects in West Bengal in 2010-11. According to Nirmal Saha, Vice President, Roofers Hotels Ltd, the investments will be made to develop four ongoing hospitality projects across West Bengal.

The Group will be setting up resort properties in Chilapata, Garumara, Mandarmani and Digha. Out of these four resorts, Roofers Hotels have already signed contracts with WelcomHeritage Hotels for three properties, except the Digha property. While the Digha property is expected to be opened in October 2010, the other three are expected to be operational by October 2011. “Digha is close to Mandarmani beach. The resort will have 40 cottages with spa, restaurant, bar, indoor games facilities, swimming pool, etc,” stated Saha.

Among other projects, Saha said that the Group is also in the process of setting up hotels in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. He said that these projects will be taken up next year.
