After the success of Palace of Wheels, the Government of Rajasthan introduced Royal Rajasthan on Wheels, and has now included Varanasi in the destinations covered by the luxury train, which will commence from September 2011.
According to a report in Times of India, Royal Rajasthan on Wheels will reach Varanasi on every Friday morning. The passengers will get an opportunity to see the Subeh-e-Banaras (sunrise) at the majestic ghats, Ganga Aarti in the evening and sight-seeing of other places including Bharat Kala Bhawan, Bharat Mata Mandir and Sarnath. The cities covered in the itinerary of the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels include Delhi, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Sawai Madhopur, Jaipur, Khajuraho, Varanasi and Agra.
VK Sharma, General Manager, Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC), along with Dr Manjeet Singh, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, RTDC recently held a meeting with the officials of Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department to discuss and plan better facilities for tourists, as well as signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the same. |
