Royal Thai Embassy to begin Tourist Visa fee exemption scheme from May 11, 2010

The Royal Thai Embassy has announced that the Tourist Visa fee exemption scheme which was terminated on March 4, 2010 will be renewed and started from May 11, 2010 to March 31, 2011. The scheme also covers exemption of the fee for Visa on Arrival (VOA) provided by the Immigration Bureau of Thailand at designated checkpoints. However, the exemption scheme is not extended to other types of Visas, i.e. Non-Immigrant Visa and Transit Visa.

Effectively, the Visa applicants who apply for Tourist Visa (single entry) do not need to attach demand draft for Visa fee during that period. However, the ordinary passport holder who wants to obtain Tourist Visa is still required to apply through WS Thai. Visa Application Centre and VFS service charge is still applicable.
