| | Saudi Arabia-based Low Cost Carrier (LCC) nasair, owned by private aviation group, National Air Services (NAS), has entered the Indian market with a strong expansion strategy. The airline, which commenced Indian operations with four flights a week on Mumbai-Riyadh route from the first of this month plans to connect Kochi, Kozhikode and New Delhi in the coming months.
The airline will commence three flights a week on Kochi-Riyadh route from June 1, 2010, four flights a week between Kozhikode-Riyadh starting July 1, 2010 and three flights a week on New Delhi-Riyadh route from August 1, 2010. The company currently operates A320 on Mumbai-Riyadh sector with 180 passenger seat capacity.
Speaking with TravelBiz Monitor, Mehboob Peshimam, Director India Subcontinent, nasair said, “nasair commencing operations on Mumbai-Riyadh sector and other routes in the pipeline will help in bridging the gap between the two countries.
