Saudi Arabia-based Low Cost Carrier (LCC) Nasair, owned by private aviation group National Air Services (NAS), has strong plans to start India operations by year end or early 2010. The airline is the country’s first LCC and has been in operation for two years. Apart from India, it also has other countries such as Pakistan and Turkey on its international expansion radar. Speaking with TravelBiz Monitor on the sidelines of the recently concluded Arabian Travel Market 2009, Mudassir Iqbal Dhanse, Sales Executive, National Air Services (NAS) disclosed, “We are strongly looking at India, Pakistan and Turkey for our future international expansions. There is a healthy traffic demand from India to Middle East right now and we would like to cash in on this growth.” The airline, which is headquartered in Riyadh, currently operates to 24 destinations, of which 13 destinations are in the domestic sector (in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), while the other 11 are in the international sector.
