Singapore Airlines to withdraw few flights from India effective January 26, 2009

Singapore Airlines (SQ), the flag carrier of Singapore is going to withdraw few flights from Indian cities effective January 26, 2009. The carrier is going to withdraw its Delhi flight SQ 405 (operating every Thursday at 7.45 hrs) from 26th of this month, while the Mumbai flight SQ 421 (operating every Tuesday and Thurday at 11.50 hrs) from 28th of this month. Confirming the news about SQ, Sundeep Kapadia, Director, Kapadia Travels Pvt. Ltd. said, “We got to know about SQ pulling out few operations from New Delhi and Mumbai through Amadeus. The system shows that SQ will no longer operate listed day flights from Mumbai and Delhi. I think it can be because of low load factor.”

According to Kapadia, the airline is first going to pull out the day flight operating out of New Delhi on Thursday every week.
