Singapore Airlines working on ‘Retrofit Programme’ for day flights on Indian routes

Plans to restart double daily services on Mumbai and Delhi route from May this year

With major airlines across the world considering ‘retrofitting’ of their aircraft, Singapore Airlines is working upon the same for few international routes including India. The airline has already retrofitted cabin products with the requisite technology on all the night flights to Indian routes in early 2009. The airline is now planning to enhance, add and upgrade multiple products and offerings on its day flight (including AVOD – Audio Video On Demand service) for all  classes on Indian routes, thus its working on a ‘Retrofit programme’.

Chai woo Foo, General Manager – India, Singapore Airlines said, “We have recorded a good response from our passengers with regards to our new and enhanced cabin products on the night flights. To provide similar flying experience to our day flight passengers, this year we are working on enhancing cabin products in all the classes. We are going to introduce new cabin products, new cabin crew on all the Indian routes (Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Bengaluru). The entire programme will be completed by mid 2010.”
