| | In a recent development, a few days ago, Singapore Airlines had conducted a meeting with the Travel Agents Fraternity to sort out the on-going issue on zero commissions between the agents and the carrier. During this meet, Singapore Airlines along with it's low cost subsidiary Silk Air offered agents two per cent on the PLB (Productivity Linked Bonus) for a minimum business of INR 5,00,000. The Travel Agents Federation declined the proposal explaining that it hardly made any sense to their business prospects and asked the carrier to settle down for a three per cent commission on base fare.
Explaining his point of view, C W Foo, General Manager – India, Singapore Airlines said, “We value the support and business relationship with the travel agents. We continue to discuss with the associations to find a solution within the zero commission environment that is linked with productivity and also on the change to service-fee based model, we are open to negotiations with them to arrive at a mutually beneficial consensus for the benefit of the customer.” | | Read complete story >> (You need to login first to read complete story).
