It will organise the workshop in conjunction with SriLankan Airlines. This decision has been taken in order to tap India’s pilgrimage and leisure market. SLTPB will organise the workshops in Mumbai (November 30); Ahmedabad (December 1); Jaipur (December 2-3); New Delhi (December 4); Kolkata (December 5) and Hyderabad (December 6). SLTPB is expecting 170 visitors from India to attend these workshops. The main aim of the workshop is to educate the Indian travel trade about the Ramayana Trails in Sri Lanka, thereby promoting tourism in the country. This information was divulged by Prabuddh Banerjee, Country Head – India, Sri Lanka Tourism.

SLTPB is expecting the Indian travel trade to put in efforts to bring out special packages for tourists visiting Ramayana Trails in Sri Lanka. It is planning to target pilgrim cum leisure, family segments from India for the new product.
