South African Tourism Board to organise 'Learn South Africa' programme for Indian travel agents in July this year

According to an IANS report, with an aim to spread more awareness about the region, the South African Tourism Board will organise a programme- Learn South Africa for the Indian travel agents in July this year. The one-day programme will take place in 12 cities across the country starting with Mumbai (July 10); Kolkata (July 17); Delhi (July 24); Chennai, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad (July 31); Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Surat, Kochi, Nagpur and Pune (August 7).  

The programme will have audio-video clips specially designed for the purpose which will help Indian travel agents get better knowledge about South Africa as a destination and all its tourist attractions. The session will also provide a brief overview of the region, history, cultural heritage, provincial distribution, local cuisine, award-winning wines, wildlife game reserves, city attractions, tourism offerings among others.

Medha Sampat, Country Manager- India, South African Tourism Board said, “There is a growing interest in South Africa as a destination from many new trade partners in different cities across the country, and this programme will help us reach out to each of them.
