Spain Tourism Board to conduct FAM trips for travel trade early next year

Spain honours renowned Indian cartoonist, Mario de Miranda with the highest civilian honour ‘the la Cruz de Isabel la Catolica’

National Tourist Office (NTO) of Spain for India, which was set up earlier this year in Mumbai, is currently working on the marketing and promotional strategies for next year. It is planning to organise road shows in Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai in Quarter Two or Quarter Three of next year, as well as will organise a FAM trip for Indian Incentive specialist to coincide with FITUR 2010 which will be held in Madrid from January 20-24, 2010. In February 2010, the NTO will conduct a week long FAM trip for 15 Indian tour operators.

“Our priority is to work with the travel trade and increase their awareness and knowledge about Spain. Conducting road shows, presentations and FAM trips is part of our ongoing efforts to educate the Indian travel trade. However, the introduction of a Spain Specialist programme in the Indian market will take another two years. We are also going to undertake joint promotions with select tour operators shortly. We are targeting experienced travellers, MICE and honeymoon segments. Within MICE the focus is mainly Incentives and Congress,” informed Miguel Nieto Sandoval,
