SpiceJet yesterday announced the appointment of its first General Sales Agency in Sri Lanka. Jetwing Air (Pvt.) Ltd., based out of Colombo, has been appointed with immediate effect. As per an exclusive agreement, Jetwing will promote, advertise and sell SpiceJet products and services to people residing in Sri Lanka. Jetwing Air is the second GSA that SpiceJet has appointed to stimulate the overseas market. Earlier the company had appointed Qatar Tours in Doha.
Commenting on this, Samyukth Sridharan, Chief Commercial Officer, SpiceJet Limited said, “With this step, we begin to expand our distribution footprint to Sri Lanka and make SpiceJet tickets available through travel agents, for people living overseas. This is a significant move that will enable residents of Sri Lanka to travel easily, for both business and leisure, to various destinations within India. In the long run this will contribute significantly to inbound traffic into India. ” He added that Jetwing has the expertise and reach to stimulate the market and we believe that they are our right partners in this region. |
