With an aim to further increase tourist arrivals from India, Scandinavian Tourist Board (STB) recently organised a road show in Delhi and Mumbai. STB brought down five member delegation representing hotels, airlines, tourism board, travel and tourism companies. The delegation included: Scandinavian Perspectives, Scandinavian Robinson, Scandinavian Tourist Board (STB), Visit Flam and Finnair. The Board is planning to organise a road show in South India, especially Bengaluru next year.
Speaking on the tourism prospects from India to Scandinavian countries, Mark Mendes, India representative for STB said, “We consider India as a prime destination for outbound tourism, hence this year we brought down leading travel companies from Scandinavia to undertake business activities directly with the Indian counterparts.”
Mendes mentioned that in spite of the economic recession, Indian tourist arrivals to Scandinavia has increased to 30 per cent, out of which major percentage of travellers are from the leisure category, especially family and Free Individual Travellers (FIT), |
