| | Sanya City, located in the Hainan province in Southern most part of China is aggressively focusing on the Indian tourism industry. The Sanya Tourism Development Board (STDB) is currently in talks with China Southern Airlines and China Eastern Airlines to start direct flights between India – Sanya route. This will not only improve the air connectivity but will also improve tourist traffic on India – Sanya route. Divulging information on the same, Tang Sixian, Deputy Director, Sanya Tourism Development Board said, “We are keen on improving the air connectivity on India – Sanya route. For the same, we are talking to two China-based carriers to either start full service operations to India or charter flight services to India. The services can be either from Mumbai or New Delhi. We are trying to start the services at the earliest to improve tourism and business investment opportunities between India and Sanya.”
As reported earlier by TravelBiz Monitor; STDB was on a three city road show in India to tap the outbound market.
