Central Railways plans to introduce a superfast passenger train from Mumbai to Pune via Panvel. The train will run between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Shivaji Nagar and will reach Pune in three hours, as per a TOI report by Somit Sen. “After the huge success of Pragati Express, which runs via Panvel, we are considering a new train to cater to the rush of passengers on the route,” said Subodh Jain, General Manager, Central Railway. If launched, it will be the seventh dedicated train to Pune. According to sources, the proposal for launching this train has been put forward for the upcoming Railway Budget.
“We are looking at the possibility of introducing a new train in the slot between 10 am and 2.30 pm,” Jain informed.
