TAAI appoints Vijay Mohanraj as Chairman of TAAI-AP Chapter

Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) has appointed Vijay Mohanraj as the Chairman of Andhra Pradesh Chapter. Mohanraj, 52, is the Director of ‘Sameera Travels’ which came into existence in 1988. Speaking about his appointment, Mohanraj said, “As a travel agents association, TAAI is responsible to protect the interest of the consumer and those engaged in the industry. Keeping this as a benchmark, it is a challenging responsibility to represent Andhra Pradesh at the national level.”

According to a release from the Association in recent times it has also been able to garner support of bodies like DGCA, Thomas Cook and Cox & Kings in the fight against zero commission with foreign airlines. TAAI has been actively pursuing this agenda with the understanding that charging the customer a Transaction Fee is not a custom in practice ever since the agents-airline set up took place and also because it is against the consumer rights.
