TAAI to work closely with MoT to promote India among domestic and inbound travellers

In a bid to promote India among domestic and inbound tourists and bring about importance of sustainable tourism, Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) will work closely with the Ministry of Tourism (MoT) by undertaking various initiatives like organising road shows, addressing various issues like need for infrastructure development, development of budget hotels on highways to strengthen Road Tourism etc. “This year MoT is strongly emphasising on promoting India as a wellness, medical and Ayurveda destination by organising road shows in international markets like the Middle East. The MoT will present various tourism products at the TAAI annual convention which is being held in Dubai from September 28 – October 1, 2009. TAAI will position South India as the gateway for the Middle East market for Wellness, Medical and Ayurveda Tourism,” explained Rajji Rai, President, TAAI.

Further more, TAAI will work in conjunction with MoT to organise road shows on a pan-India basis. TAAI also intends to initiate work with National Tourist Offices (NTOs) in India to promote inbound tourism from their respective countries.
