TAAI’s Mantra: iNOW

TAAI’s annual convention in London will lead its members forward to INNOVATE business modules, INVENT new ways of transacting business and IMPLEMENT strategies for change, change, which should start taking place from NOW. Khushboo Sahrawat takes a closer look at the possibilities and different options that lie ahead for the travel industry to explore new avenues and grow in their respective business

“Sometimes we stare so long at a door that is closing that we see too late the one that is open”

The quote by Alexander Graham Bell best describes the motive of Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) deciding on i-NOW as the theme for the Indian Travel Congress (57th Convention and Exhibition) in London.

According to C V Prasad, President, TAAI, “The theme is extremely significant and very topical at this point. The word ‘Now’ is meant to communicate urgency, which means ‘whatever you need to do, you have to do it immediately;’ one cannot wait, time is now and not tomorrow. The ‘I’ stands for three things that an agent will have to adopt to ensure continuity of a profitable business: Innovate, Invent and Implement. In simple terms, within your current business, one needs to invent because new opportunities need to be created along with innovating with older ones and most importantly, you need to implement. Very often people do the first two but fail to implement. These are the three important I’s for the future of travel agents.”
