TAAI’s Vision 2020 now seeking association with Indian state tourism boards to boost domestic tourism

In a recent development, TAAI organised a tourism seminar yesterday at the Intercontinental Hotel in Mumbai to have an interactive dialogue with National Tourist Office (NTOs) representatives. This seminar was in continuance of the unveiling of TAAI’s Vision 2020 (reported by TravelBiz Monitor on March 4, 2009). Present at the seminar were Indian representatives of Macau Government Tourist Office, State Tourist Board Baden-Wuerttemberg, Tourism New Zealand, Maison De la France, VisitBritain, Hong Kong Tourism Board, Switzerland Tourism, Dubai Tourism etc.

When asked about the objective of Vision 2020, Rajji Rai, President, TAAI said, “TAAI will identify the critical factors that impact the development of national and international tourism investment environment. Apart from international tourism boards, we will also work in association with Indian state tourism boards for which talks will be held with Sujit Banerjee, Tourism Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, India on March 23, 2009. The tourism boards will benefit from our reach in the Tier-II and Tier-III cities
