TAFI – Western Region suggests penalising member agents still selling SQ tickets post withdrawal of support

Forms four committees: Airlines, Visa and Passport, service Tax and Legal matters and Media and Public Relations

Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) – Western Region yesterday held a meeting at Cricket Club of India (CCI) in Mumbai, which was attended by about 50-60 member agents. The main agenda of the meeting was to provide an update to the members about the current status regarding the withdrawal of support to Singapore Airlines (SQ) and plans for the coming weeks. At the meeting a proposal was put forth to penalise member agents selling SQ tickets post the withdrawal of support by trade associations. Apart from the airlines commission issue, the meeting also witnessed the formation of four committees-Airlines Committee, Visa and Passport Committee, Service Tax and Legal matters Committee and Media and Public Relations Committee. The committees will be looking after specific issues and matter. The Association will assign about three to four members per committee this week.
