| | The Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) along with India Payment Card Risk Council (IPCRC) last week organised an event to create awareness about 'E-Commerce Security for Travel Industry'. The event was part of the Cyber Safety Week 2010 organised by Mumbai Police and NASSCOM. The highlight of the event was the panel discussion by major stakeholders of the travel industry and Mumbai Police discussing how the travel industry is prone to such risks and how they can be avoided.
Speaking about card payment frauds and cyber crimes which affect the travel industry, Nandkumar Saravade, Chairman, IPCRC said, “The issue of online security for the travel industry is becoming critical as some of the biggest frauds have been detected in this segment. However, the general population is not aware of its risks. Hence, there is a dire need to create awareness among customers so that they are more alert.” This view was supported by the Police Commissioner of Mumbai, D Sivanandan who emphasised on the wide usage of cyberspace by terrorists and the travel industry being a soft target. | | Read complete story >> (You need to login first to read complete story).
