| | In a bid to intensify destination awareness among frontline agency sales staff, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in India is planning to introduce a training programme for frontline agency sales staff. TAT India is looking at introducing this online cum offline training programme by Quarter One of 2010. It will conduct the offline training modules with Kuoni Academy and discussions for the same are already underway. The tourism board is currently awaiting the necessary approvals from its headquarters in Thailand.
“A training programme for frontline staff of agencies has already been done before by TAT Los Angeles. In India Tourism Malaysia has conducted a training programme for frontline staff. We have not been active with the frontline counter sales staff of travel agencies and this programme will help us educate those people who interact face to face with potential visitors to Thailand,” stated Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, Director, TAT India.
