In a bid to augment its tourism figures post the recent political crisis, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will be organising ‘Amazing Thailand Champion Agents’ seminar for Indian travel agents/ tour operators in Lonavala from January 23 to 25, 2009. “The plans for the next year include: promotional activities through mainstream media advertising and networking with the Indian travel trade, organising road shows in March 2009 in Delhi, Chandigarh and Amritsar (and two more towards the end of the year), introducing a Thailand brand in India, which will also target the Tier-II and Tier-III cities. We will also bring out special brochures to target the wedding/honeymoon and family segment in the Indian market,” said Chattan Kunjara Na Arudhya, Director (India), Tourism Authority of Thailand.
Arudhya further told TravelBiz Monitor that in the current economic scenario, the Indian market is recovering faster than other markets for Thailand tourism. Also, TAT is awaiting approval from Kuoni Travel (India) Ltd, |
