| | The Turkish Indian Tourism Council (TITC), which has a sizeable membership of Turkish tour operators and hotels and restaurants, in order to promote tourism in Turkey has planned to organise FAM trips to Turkey for Indian tour operators. It will invite about forty Indian tour operators and conduct FAM trip in early April this year. It also plans to organise another special FAM trip for the media by end of April 2009. This information was divulged by Emin Cakmak, Chairman, TITC during the ongoing Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) in New Delhi.
The main idea of organising FAM trips is to educate Indian tour operators about Turkey and create awareness about the tourism potential of Turkey in India. Currently Turkey is witnessing about thirty per cent growth in terms of Indian tourist inflow. It also attracts a good number of FIT and MICE travellers from India. According to Cakmak, large numbers of Turkish travellers also show interest to visit India nowadays.
