TNSW to open tourism office in first quarter next year in India

To work closely with Indian travel trade to promote New South Wales

Tourism New South Wales (TNSW) for the first time made inroads in the Indian market by conducting the India Mission 2009 which concluded day before yesterday in Mumbai. The Mission was earlier conducted in New Delhi and Ahmedabad. TNSW along with 23 suppliers from New South Wales promoted leisure and MICE segments through the Mission. TNSW has adopted the strategy of working closely with the Indian travel trade to promote the products and services of New South Wales. The strategy also consists of destination awareness in key markets like Mumbai, New Delhi and Ahmedabad. TNSW may also consider conducting another trade mission in India in different cities. However, the idea is still at the consideration stage.

Speaking to TravelBiz Monitor, Christopher Gough, Director Visit Sydney, TNSW said, “The India Mission 2009 received a good response from the travel trade. Our strategy in the coming months is to continue working and building relationships with the travel trade and pursue Indian travellers to explore the destination. TNSW will be opening its tourism office in Quarter One next year,
