Tourism Australia plans to organise MICE Mission in India in November 2009

Tourism Australia (TA) is planning to organise MICE Mission in various Indian cities in November this year, in a bid to intensify MICE travel to Australia. For this, Tourism Australia is currently in talks with the convention and visitor bureaus of Australian states and territories.  The dates and the destinations for the MICE Mission are likely to be finalised in the next two-three weeks.

Speaking to TravelBiz Monitor on the sidelines of the recently concluded India Mega Famil and Workshop (IMFW) 2009 in Gold Coast, Australia, Abhilasha Jain, Country Manager – India, TA said, β€œThe Mission is being planned with an objective for the Australian convention and visitors bureau from different states and territories to interact with the MICE operators in India. This will also help in understanding the market demand and the requirements in this segment.” Currently, MICE travel to Australia comprises of eight to ten per cent of the total Indian visitor arrivals to Australia.
