| | According to a report in Times of India, the Karnataka government’s move to develop tourism spots in Mysore by setting up a Tourism Authority was recently welcomed by D Made Gowda, Congress leader and former MLA, Mysore. He asked the concerned officials to include tourism spots in and around Mysore under the proposed authority and not merely focus on the needs of the city. He added that places like M M Hills, B R Hills, Bandipur and Nagarhole Tiger Reserve, Srirangapatna should come under the proposed Authority so that tourism potential of these places can be tapped into.
“Merely developing the tourism spots here will not help the tourism sector. We can develop circuits if we develop these spots so that the tourist hub can be promoted as a year round destination. We experimented on some such circuits during Dasara festivities. The Mysore rulers set up City Improvement Trust Board (CITB) which helped Mysore to be developed as a planned city. Now the Authority can help to develop it in a better way,” added Madegowda. | | Read complete story >> (You need to login first to read complete story). New User? Register for FREE! |
