| | Tourism Fiji plans to intensify its initiatives for the Indian market this year. The tourism board in an effort to increase awareness and educate the travel trade about the destination will be conducting three FAM tours this year and a four city workshop covering Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Bengaluru early next year. It is also looking at promoting the destination through a dual destination route targeting Hong Kong- Nadi, as well as triple destination route targeting Hong Kong- Macau- Nadi.
Each of the FAM tours will focus on a different client set from India. The first will be a media FAM trip sometime in August focused on showcasing all facets of the destination. In September or October this year the tourism board will conduct a FAM tour for five to six major tour operators selling luxury holidays in order to promote Fiji as a premium destination. The tourism board also recently conducted the Fiji Matai Specialist Programme (online) and will conduct the first Matai FAM trip at the end of the year for about 20 Indian agents who have successfully completed the specialist programme. | | Read complete story >> (You need to login first to read complete story).
