Tourism Queensland to adopt five-prong strategy to promote the destination in India

Tourism Queensland is looking at promoting the destination by adopting a five-prong strategy which includes destination awareness through the travel trade, PR and media activities, online promotions, direct marketing and working closely with the aviation players. The tourism board is looking at organising their annual sales mission in November this year. Divulging the information on a recent visit to India, Paul Buggy, Regional Director, Korea, India, Middle East, South Africa and Inbound, Tourism Queensland said, “We are planning our annual sales mission in India in November this year and we are looking at increasing the number of cities we plan to conduct our road show in India. Kolkata is one of the cities we are looking at this year. Our biggest emphasis, to promote the destination, is through the travel trade and also through our PR and media efforts to promote various destinations of Queensland.” In order for the travel trade to understand the destination, it plans to promote the already existing online Queensland specialist programme through the road shows.

The tourism board has witnessed considerable interest for visits to new destinations
