In a bid to intensify its destination awareness in the Indian market, Tourism Queensland will conduct road shows in three Indian cities: New Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai, from November 23-28, 2009. The tourism board is looking at bringing a delegation of 15 to 20 suppliers for a B2B interaction with the travel trade.
Speaking with TravelBiz Monitor on the sidelines of the recently concluded India Mega Famil and Workshop 2009 in Gold Coast, Australia, Paul Buggy, Regional Director, Korea, India, Middle East, South Africa and Russia, Tourism Queensland, mentioned, “The delegation will primarily interact with the travel trade and the objective is to lift the awareness level of the destination. We will also promote new destination in Queensland like Port Douglas and Sunshine Coast among the Indian consumers.” The tourism board will continue to promote the destination through its office in India and through aggressive media and PR activities.
Furthermore, the tourism board will also appoint India-based, RJ Anjaan Ganesh, as the brand ambassador for Queensland in India. |
