Tourism road shows in Australia and New Zealand not cancelled: MoT

The Ministry of Tourism (MoT), Government of India has rubbished media reports regarding cancellation of Adventure Tourism road shows that were to be held in Australia and New Zealand in July 2009. A PIB release issued in the capital clarified that it (MoT) was approached by the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) to organise these shows in Australia and New Zealand next month. “Considering the importance of these shows for realising the untapped economic and tourism potential and promoting India as a major destination for adventure tourism, Ministry of Tourism had agreed to facilitate organisation of these road shows through its office in Sydney. Subsequently, the Association expressed a desire to reschedule these events and hold them in September 2009. Accordingly these shows are now being planned for September, 2009,” added the release.
