The Focus Kerala- World Investors Meet 2009, organised by Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) from July 24-26, 2009 in Ernakulam, Kerala saw tourism sector attracting Rs 782.5 crore worth investments signed through Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs). The Meet was inaugurated by Dr. V Venu, Principal Secretary (Tourism), Government of Kerala. Venu also spoke about state government’s contribution and support to the investors. E M Najeeb, Chairman and Managing Director, ATE Group spoke about the diverse potential of tourism sector in Kerala. The MoUs were signed to develop various tourism infrastructure such as hotels, convention centres, multiplexes, resorts and Farm Tourism in Kerala. This information was divulged by N M Sharafudeen, Vice Chairman, KCCI. The total investment garnered at the Meet was Rs 3978.5 crore of which Rs 1927.5 crore worth MoUs were signed in different sectors.
During the two-day Meet investment opportunities were discussed on tourism, financial service, education, logistics, manufacturing, rubber, agro, food processing, rural retail and infrastructure. |
