Travel Agents associations to boycott Jet, JetLite with effect from Dec 4, 2008

To withdraw boycott on Kingfisher Airlines with immediate effect

Travel Association across the country today met in New Delhi along with 120 agents including online travel agents. The associations across India included TAAI, TAFI, IATO, ADTOI and IAAI. The common consensus that resulted from the meeting is the effective December 4, 2008, all associations will boycott Jet and JetLite. Agents would not sell Jet and JetLite's tickets on both – domestic and international routes. Subsequently, the boycott on Kingfisher Airlines which came into effect today (Dec 1, 2008) will also been withdrawn with immediate effect. When quipped about the withdrawal of Kingfisher boycott and the decision to boycott Jet and JetLite, an industry source confirmed saying, "The primary reason to withdraw the boycott of Kingfisher Airlines was due to the fact that the initial decision was taken by an individual association. However, the withdrawal of the boycott of Kingfisher now is a common consensus by all associations."
