| | The travel trade association recently held a meeting with the Ministry of Tourism (MoT) in the capital to discuss the Delhi government’s notification on mandatory registration policy for all travel trade operators in the state. The meeting was attended by office bearers of Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI), Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI), India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB); and Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI).
While welcoming the move to make registration mandatory for travel trade, the associations urged MoT to formulate a uniform guideline for the registration policy to be followed by all the states. The associations also urged that those travel agents and tour operators who are already recognised by the Department of Tourism (DoT), Government of India, should be exempted from the separate registrations. This meeting is a result of the associations’ decision to work together for better understanding and take up common issues with the Central/State Government and Trade for more effectiveness and progressive growth of tourism trade in the country. | | Read complete story >> (You need to login first to read complete story).
