Trident, Mumbai to resume operations from December 21, 2008

After more than three weeks of trying to recover from the terrorist attack, The Trident Hotel in Mumbai will be open for the guests from December 21, 2008. The hotel didn't face major collateral damage during the course of the attack. The restoration work primarily consisted of mending the damaged windows. According to the hotel officials, the hotel isn't taking in any new room reservations for the property. However, the bookings made previously for December 21, 2008 and onwards will continue. The hotel has also beefed up its security post the restoration.

The Oberoi and the Trident hotels were among the hotels attacked by the terrorists on November 26, 2008. Among the two, the Oberoi faced more damage than the Trident. Officials also state that restoration process of the Oberoi hotel may take some more time. The Trident houses 541 rooms and four food and beverage outlets including Frangipani, India Jones, Verandah and Opium Den. The hotel also holds extensive conferencing and banqueting facilities.
