TTDC to tie-up with corporate companies for the Hop-on-Hop-off tour this summer

The Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) is now trying out a new marketing strategy to promote the recently launched Chennai- Mamallapuram Hop-on Hop-off tours this summer. The department has decided to tie-up with corporate companies to ensure that the tour gets a regular flow of travellers, as it is not satisfied by depending on tourists alone. According to a report in Times of India by V Ayyappan a tourism department official said, “We have already struck a deal with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) so that their staff and retailers in Chennai and Kancheepuram area can enjoy the Hop-on Hop-off tours. As many as 2,000 people are expected to take the tour by June,” adding that employees and their family members can hop on to the tour on any day. TTDC is offering companies a discount of 20 per cent on fare and also a free lunch at Mamallapuram. More than 200 people have already travelled under the scheme in the last two weeks. The numbers are expected to go up during weekends.

The destinations covered under by the Hop-on Hop-off tour are Marundeeswara Temple at Thiruvanmiyur, VGP,
